Larry Coffey was raised in Corpus Christi, Texas. He received his Bachelor of Business Administration degree, magna cum laude, in 1980 from the University of Houston. In 1983 he graduated from the University of Houston School of Law, receiving a degree of Doctor of Jurisprudence. He initially went into practice in Corpus Christi with his father, an attorney who had practiced law for many years in Corpus Christi. Within the first year of his practice he was asked to join the District Attorney’s office as an Assistant District Attorney for Nueces, Kleberg and Kennedy Counties. He prosecuted felony criminal cases until 1986, at which time he joined the law firm of Redford, Wray and Woolsey, where he handled an insurance defense trial docket.
In early 1993 Redford, Wray and Woolsey changed its name to Broyles & Pratt, and Mr. Coffey was made a shareholder of the firm. In 1997 Mr. Coffey left Broyles & Pratt and joined the firm of Dunn & Weathered, P.C.
Mr. Coffey has handled workers’ compensation cases, products liability claims, extra-contractual liability cases against insurance carriers, DTPA cases, multi-party negligence cases, automobile accident claims and cases involving off-shore accidents.
Mr. Coffey is licensed to practice in the state of Texas and has been admitted to practice before the U.S. District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of Texas.
