David J. Dunn was raised in Corpus Christi, Texas.He received his Bachelor of Science Degree, magna cum laude, in 1974 from the University of Houston. In 1977 he graduated from the University of Texas School of Law, receiving a degree of Doctor of Jurisprudence, with honors. He began his legal career in March 1977 with the insurance defense firm of Dyer, Redford, Burnett, Wray & Woolsey. Several years later this firm merged with another local firm to form Kleberg, Dyer, Redford & Weil, which became the largest firm in Corpus Christi. After receiving an offer of partnership, he left the Kleberg firm in 1981 and joined the firm of Brin & Brin, P.C., which is also an insurance defense firm in Corpus Christi, Texas. He practiced with Brin & Brin as a partner in the firm until April 1988, when he left to form The Law Office of David J. Dunn, P.C.

Mr. Dunn has extensive experience handling all areas of insurance defense work. He has served as lead counsel during the trial of multi-party product liability cases, medical malpractice cases, actions by insureds against their insurers for extracontractual liability, industrial accident cases, Deceptive Trade Practice Act cases, commercial litigation, labor law matters and, of course, the usual negligence lawsuits including premises liability cases and auto accident litigation. He is licensed to practice law in the state of Texas. He has also been admitted to practice in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas, the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Texas and the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the Fifth and Eleventh Circuits.
